Our Commitment to You

Amid the constant changes happening in our world due to the Coronavirus, Preventive Measures remains focused and committed to your safety and to meeting your Mental Health and Home Health needs. It’s important that we all do our part in limiting exposure and allowing as many patients as possible to continue treatment. Below are the adjustments we have put in place to minimize the disruption of services, as well as steps you can take to keep yourself and everyone around you safe and healthy.

Mental Health Services

At this time, our Mental Health locations are providing most services via Telehealth, including Therapy, Psychiatric Evaluations and Diagnostic Assessments. Preventive Measures has an active Telehealth platform in place to provide this service for all of our Clients, both current and new. We strongly encourage Clients to take advantage of one of our alternate methods for treatment, including therapy over the phone with a basic cell phone or landline, or by video, using a computer or smartphone. Please refer to your region below for specific guidance, then call to schedule your appointment.

WASHINGTON DC – 202-563-7632:
  • Our Day Rehabilitation Group Facilitators are providing Mental Health Rehabilitation Services Counseling (MHRS) at our 2124 MLK Blvd, SE DC location. Please call for the most current scheduling.
  • Community Service Workers (CSWs) are available to meet with Clients. CSWs may also provide services via Telehealth for Clients who have the capacity to utilize a smartphone, laptop, and/or home computer with a two-way camera. CSWs may assist with connecting Clients to the in-office Telehealth platform for therapy appointments.
  • Our 2759 MLK Blvd, SE DC location is closed permanently.
  • Our 7826 Eastern Avenue, NW DC location is closed permanently.
PENNSYLVANIA – 484-225-4323:
  • At this time, our Pennsylvania Clients may receive Telehealth services from the comfort of your home using one of our Telehealth options. We are operating with full capability, but for your safety and the safety of our Therapists, our wellness centers are closed for on-site visits. You may easily connect with your Therapist by phone, tablet or computer. Video sessions will require a wi-fi connection. Please call us today to determine the best option for you and to schedule your appointment.

Home Health Care Services

PM HOME HEALTH CARE – 484-225-4323:

We’re coming to work, so you can stay at home. Complete a New Client Application HERE, from the comfort of your home, or give us a call today.

  • Because of the nature of our services and the needs of our Clients, Preventive Measures Home Health Care will continue business as usual until further notice, while exercising extra caution in the home and with Client interaction.
  • The safety of our Clients and their families is our highest concern, particularly because many of our Clients are more vulnerable to COVID-19 exposure. Our Direct Care Workers (DCWs) are strongly encouraged to use face masks as they are available, and to continue the use of gloves and regular, thorough handwashing.
  • Please call with any questions, to schedule service or complete a New Client Application.

Safety First

For the latest information and developments concerning the Coronavirus, and to minimize the risk of receiving inaccurate information via social media, etc., please refer to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website at www.cdc.gov.

  • We have significantly increased the cleaning protocol at all of our locations, and treated each facility with a hospital grade sanitation process to kill any existing or potential bacteria or viruses. We have also supplied additional quantities of hand sanitizer and spray disinfectants at each site.
  • If you, or anyone in your family is feeling unwell, we ask you to please stay home and call to reschedule your appointment (or utilize one of the alternate service options outlined below). We will not be charging cancellation fees due to the circumstances.
  • There are easy precautions you can take to minimize the spread of the virus and other illnesses:
    • Wash your hands regularly with soap and water. Wash hands for at least 20 seconds (try singing your ABC’s while washing).
    • Use hand sanitizer containing 60%+ alcohol. Alcohol-free sanitizer are not recommended by the CDC. Ensure the entire surface area of both hands are covered. Once it dries completely, it should be fully effective.
    • Disinfect surface areas in the home. Always follow label directions on cleaning products and disinfectants. Wash surfaces with a general household cleaner to remove germs. Rinse with water, and follow with an EPA-registered disinfectant to kill germs.
    • Avoid close contact with someone who is sick

PLEASE NOTE: Older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness. Please consult with your health care provider about additional steps you may be able to take to protect yourself. (Source: www.cdc.gov)
