Sophia Henry, Clinical Director for our Georgia mental health operations, was invited to speak to a group of young men enrolled in the Atlanta Kappa League Program, a youth mentorship and college preparatory program developed by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

During her presentation, Sophia provided basic information on mental health awareness, with a focus on defining Mental Health vs Mental Illness, identifying signs and symptoms of Depression and Anxiety, and Suicide risks and their warning signs.  Participants were provided with information about the services and resources geared towards youth (i.e. drop-in centers, crisis lines, and family support) and were given a Crisis Plan to complete. Overall, the youth were responsive, engaging, curious, and receptive to learning more.
