Speech Therapy

A Speech Therapist is a specialist with training in the diagnosis and treatment of various speech, voice, and language disorders. They work with patients who are unable to make speech sounds or who cannot make them clearly.

Common health issues that would benefit from speech therapy:

      • Memory loss or Alzheimer’s
      • Difficulty swallowing
      • Hearing loss
      • Stroke
      • Cerebral palsy
      • Other mental disability

Speech Therapy Visits

The therapist will work closely with the patient, patient’s family, doctors, and other home health staff to develop a customized approach to speech issues. He or she may order a swallow study, create constructive games, or conduct memory exercises with the patient.
